About Postmates Free Delivery
Postmates was co-founded in 2011 by Bastian Lehmann, Sean Plaice and Sam Street. Postmates deliveries are made by independent contractors called Postmates, who make up to $25 per hour. Since Postmates are self-employed, they set their own schedules. The company values safety and security. They take pride in the fact that all of their Postmates are thoroughly screened through background checks. Postmates delivery personnel use various transportation modes that allows them and their transportation mode to be matched with the products to be delivered. They drive cars, trucks and vans. Some Postmates ride bicycles, scooters and motorcycles, while others walk.
Customers sign up for the service by downloading an app on their IPhone or Android. Customers can also sign up on the web, but not all of the features are available. Postmates partners with companies such as Starbucks, Apple, Walgreens, Chipotle, 7-Eleven and American Apparel.

Postmates Delivery Time
Postmates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. If merchants are open to accept orders, Postmates are available to deliver them.
An estimated delivery time appears on the customer’s app when the order is accepted. Some of the factors that affect the delivery time are the following:
- Firstly, restaurant food preparation time;
- Secondly, available Postmates location;
- Thirdly, customer’s distance from the pickup location;
- And, of course, traffic and weather conditions.
A Postmate close to a pick up location will deliver an item faster than a Postmate, who is farther away. However, a Postmate, who is close to the pick-up location, who has to wait for an order, will be delayed in delivering the order. If any of these factors change, the estimated delivery time reflected on the customer’s app will change. These updates allow customers to have a more accurate expectation of their delivery time.
Postmates Delivery Fees
Postmates delivery fee is $2.99 or 3.99 for Postmates Plus Partners. Other deliveries have prices proportional to the distance between the pick-up location and the drop off location.
There is also a service fee of 9.99% or 10.99%, which is added to the purchase price of all orders except Plus unlimited orders.
Postmates Plus Unlimited is a monthly subscription service that costs $9.99 a month. Furthermore, on orders $25.00 or more, placed with Postmates Plus merchants, subscribers receive Postmates free delivery.
They will charge the fee of $9.99 at the time of membership and each month after that on the first day of the month. The membership can be canceled at any time.
Blitz pricing is a another fee they add to the price of orders placed during peak times. However, Plus Unlimited Subscribers are not charged Blitz Pricing on orders from plus Partners.
Customers may tip their Postmates once the order has been completed by using the tipping feature in the app.
Customers who have a Postmates account, may send a referral code for free deliveries to anyone they choose. The referral codes grant a one-time free delivery up to $10. However, if not used entirely, the balance does not transfer to another delivery.
